Zambezi National Park
Zambezi National Park lies near the Victoria Falls National Park. It covers an area of 54000 hectares. It is one of best game reserves in Zimbabwe.
Zambezi National Park Wildlife
Large number of fauna species could be found in the Zambezi including, members of the Big 5 of Africa, i.e, elephant, lion, cape buffalo, and leopard. Other common mammals are eland, zebra, giraffes, greater kudu, waterbuck, and a few other Antelopes.
There are 400 species of birds sighted in the National Park. Common birds in the park include lanner falcon, African skimmer, goliath heron, African finfoot, rock owl, pratincole, long-toed lapwing, and other different species.
Gonarezhou National Park
Gonarezhou is the Zimbabwe’s second largest National park, after Hwange National Park. The park is a part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park formed from the combination of the Gonarezhou National Park, Limpopo, and the Kruger National Park, South Africa. Inhabitants of the park include, the African cape buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetah, hyenas, and other different animal species. All the big animals can be sighted in the Gonarezhou National Park.
Nyanga National Park
The Nyanga National Park lies in the eastern highlands, Northern Zimbabwe. Highest point, Mount Nyanga in the country lies in the national park. It is the host of Zimbabwe highest fall, i.e. Mutarazi Falls. The park hosts a huge number of tourists to the country. Hwange National Park
It is the largest national park in Zimbabwe. It is located on the main road between Victoria Falls and Bulawayo. The park covers an area of 14651 kilometer square. Big mammal species in the Hwange National Park include, Cape Wild dogs, African leopards, spotted hyenas, and South African Cheetahs.
Main Lodges in Hwange National Park
- Main Camp
It is the headquarter of the park, located on the northeast side. The park can easily be accessible from a road leaving the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls road. There are several and lodges in the main camp.
- Robins camp
Robins camp is located on the northeast, near the farm of Robin, donated to the park. There are several camps and accommodations in the Robins camp.
- Sinamatella camp
Traveling to the north from the main camp site, people will find Sinamatella camp. It gives you same accommodations and camping facilities as the main camp of the national park.
- Nantwich camp
The Nantwich camp lies near the Robins camp, having several self-catering lodges. However, it is no longer functional.
- Bumbusi exclusive camp
Bumbusi exclusive camp lies near the Deka River, northwest of Sinamatella. It provides exclusive camping facilities to a maximum of 12 people.

Victoria Falls National Park
Victoria Falls National Park drives millions of visitor all around the year. The famous Victoria Fall lies inside the National Park. The park extends from the Zambezi River to the Zambezi National Park. It features a rain forest which is the home of several species of birds and African flora. Visitors to the park can sight several wildlife species, including, elephants, antelopes, white rhinoceros, elands, and many other species.
Chizarira National Park
Chizarira National Park lies in the Northern Zimbabwe. It covers an area of 2000 square kilometers. The park features beautiful scenery and amazing African wildlife. It also is a host of several species of birds including, Taita Falcon, African broadbill, yellow-spotted nicator, Livingstone’s flycatcher, emerald cuckoo, and other rare species of birds. Mammal species in the park include, klipspringer, cape buffalo, lions, leopards, antelopes, and other different mammal species.
Matobo National Park
The Matobo National Park covers an area of 424 kilometer square. The park is constituted of several granite kopjes and woodlands. There are about 175 species of birds located in the park. Other wildlife includes white rhinos, sable antelopes, leopards, impala, and many other carnivores. Fun activities in the Matobo National Park include, hiking, game viewing, horse riding, running, and surfing.
Mana Pools Game Reserves
Mana Pools wildlife reserve is one of the best game reserves in Zimbabwe. It is located at the lower region of Zambezi River. Chewore Safari Area in the Mana Pools is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mana Pools National Park has large reserves of water in different pools and wetland. It has the largest number of crocodile and hippopotamus living in the park. Wildlife species in the park include, zebra, cape buffalo, elephant, brown hyenas, black rhinoceros,leopards, and cheetahs.
